Design Guild Marks Awarded to Three ACID Members!

Anti Copying in Design (ACID) is proud to announce that, amongst the sixteen prestigious Design Guild Marks (DGM) awarded at the recent ceremony, included were the following ACID members. Deyan Sujik OBE., presented the awards during Clerkenwell Design Week at the Humanscale Showroom.

Dids Macdonald OBE., CEO and co-founder of ACID said, “The Design Guild Mark is the gold standard of excellence in furniture, interior design elements and lighting. Now in its fifteenth year, every year the bar is set higher by its prestigious judging panel. We are over the moon that our ACID members have achieved such recognition”.

Rodney McMahon, Chairman of the Design Guild Mark said, “Meeting the applicants, hearing their design journey, and witnessing the friendly but insightful and probing questions of the judges is an enjoyable design masterclass. Designers should apply for the Design Guild Mark just for the experience of meeting the judges”.

The Furniture Makers Company award the prestigious Design Guild Mark to drive excellence and raise the profile of British design and innovation. The Mark recognises the highest standards in the design of furnishings across three categories for volume production by the finest designers.

The Design Guild Mark award scheme is intended to recognise the best industrial design. A Design Guild Mark can be awarded for a product or collection of products that are currently in production, which were designed for, and are manufactured by, an industrial design process.

Most importantly it is paramount that all entries are:

  • Designed by a British Designer or Designers
  • Design practices that are based in the United Kingdom.
