New Secretary for State at the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport

Anti Copying in Design (ACID) is delighted by the appointment of the Rt. Hon. Matt Hancock MP as Secretary for State at the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport (DCMS) Dids Macdonald, OBE., Chief Executive of ACID and Vice Chair of the Alliance for IP said:

“It is great news that Matt Hancock has been promoted to Secretary of State at DCMS and we send him all good wishes in this pivotal role to the UK economy. Mr Hancock has a keen grasp of the Creative Industries and has been a passionate supporter over several years. ACID and ACID members will look forward to further engagement on design issues, particularly in all important negotiations on Brexit to ensure that UK designers are not disadvantaged when they potentially lose EU unregistered design rights protection in 27 other member states. We look forward to engaging with Mr Hancock and the team at DCMS during the next few weeks and months.”
