ACID Council Member Russell Cameron of Innermost wants to give a shout out to all lighting Designers/Manufacturers that the prestigious Design Guild Mark is now open to the lighting sector as well as for furniture. The Mark is awarded by The Furniture Makers’ Company to drive excellence and raise the profile of British design and innovation.

Renowned lighting designer Russell Cameron said, Lighting was added as a category last year so the more quality applicants the better chance for this to succeed and the industry to get promoted. It’s open to all categories of lighting (and Furniture too) and the design does not need to be brand new. The only criteria is that the design must be in volume production and that all entries are designed by a British designer or a designer working with a practice based in the UK.”

An impressive line-up of judges include Simon Terry of Anglepoise, Tim Rundle of Tim rundle Design Studio, John Tree of Jasper Morrison, Sebastian Wrong of Established & Sons and Simon Alderson of TwentyTwentyOne.

Its costs just £175+vat with a short form to complete.

Hurry because the deadline of 28st January is fast approaching. Judging is then planned for 31st March.
