Anti Copying in Design (ACID) is delighted to announce the appointment of a new Head of Membership and Business Development, Marion Horwood, who joins the team during the first week in May.
Marion joins at an exciting time for ACID as we are soon to launch our new web support offer and ACID IP Charter. Together with these new initiatives, ACID has recently submitted a response to the Government’s Calls for Views on Design IP in which Marion played a key role.
She brings with her, not only much experience of working in a membership organisation (PRS for Music) for many years, but a broad understanding of intellectual property, mainly copyright, in her role as part of their in-house legal team.
Dids Macdonald, OBE., CEO of ACID said, “Having worked with Marion on the complicated recent submission to Government on design law reform, it is clear to me that her passion for design and helping SMEs will be a benefit to all. The solution-led suggestions she has created and recommended to Government will, we hope, enhance, and simplify much needed design law reform. I feel hugely optimistic that bringing her membership experience will benefit all – our members and our team. Welcome Marion and congratulations.”
Marion Horwood said on her appointment, “As the Head of Membership & Business Development my priority is to lead on recruiting, engaging, and retaining members as well as developing and promoting the full range of new and current events and benefits for our members. I am a firm believer in and supporter of ACID’s IP Charter and will be doing all I can to expand and promote it. This is an ideal role for me as I have a very keen interest in design law and passionate about helping and assisting ACID members to protect their designs and, where necessary, ensure they obtain the appropriate support when their designs are copied.”
