On 5th February, ACID’s Chief Counsel, Nick Kounoupias, joined leading experts from academia and industry at the first residential weekend of Centre for Intellectual Property Policy & Management (CIPPM) Postgraduate Certificate in Intellectual Property (IP) for patent and trade mark attorneys.
Bournemouth University’s PGCertIP is designed to enhance graduates’ knowledge with insight and advice from experts, and open pathways to specialisms in patents and trade marks.
Embracing one of ACID’s core pillars of Education and Awareness, Nick joined an eclectic group of IP experts from a range of industry and academic backgrounds to share experience and expertise, uniting to guide and inspire the upcoming legal experts of tomorrow at what made for an excellent opening weekend.
As a long-standing and committed champion of design law, Nick spoke candidly on the importance of design IP, the necessity for criminal sanctions for design infringement and the key areas of development in the design IP landscape; most notably the recent designs consultation.
