Our friends at Cockpit Arts are opening their doors for more creatives across many disciplines to join their vibrant and creative community. They are accepting applications for awards and bursaries. On acceptance of an award, you may be offered a studio space to practice and grow your craft, gain support, funding and time to build up your creative business. Cockpit Arts are offering four awards per quarterly of the year. Some of them will be for specific specialisms and some are more open, so please do take a look at what the options are.
From Cockpit Arts website, “Cockpit makers are selected for excellence in skill, originality of ideas, drive to grow your business or practice, and ambition to make a contribution to the Cockpit community.
Funded places you can apply for are listed below – some are specific to a particular material or discipline, others are open to all makers. We run four application rounds per year, with Awards opening and closing on a quarterly basis. Please note that Awardees will be assigned a space in either of our two sites (Bloomsbury or Deptford) at Cockpit’s discretion, according to studio availability.”
The areas of craft for awards range from traditional arts and crafts, leatherworking, basket weaving, ceramics, glass work, textiles, dyeing, Asian heritage crafts, plus much more. So be sure to go take a look at what is and will be available in the future. If you get selected, this would be a wonderful initiative to be a part of.
