British IP Day – ACID scoops IP Champion Award

Across the UK there are individuals, businesses and organisations who work to promote and protect intellectual property (IP), enabling British innovation and creativity to thrive.

  • The Alliance’s IP Champion Award aims to recognise an excellent initiative or service which helps or promotes IP. Last year, ACID received the first ever IP Champion Award for their contribution to design law reform.
  • Alliance members can nominate individuals, teams or a project for the award. The nominated project should have started or have achieved a significant landmark result between 1st January and 31st December 2016.
  • An elite judging panel of experts from industry and politics will consider all entries and decide on the winning entry.
  • The nominations will be judged on the impact made and ideally reflect innovation in its particular field. This will be judged in line with the below criteria:
    • The context of education or enforcement work eg. the scale of the enforcement challenge or lack of awareness of IP issues among a specific audience.
    • The scale of project impact eg. level of engagement to a new audience or decrease in availability of infringing products or content.
    • Innovation in approach eg. how the work of the individual or project differs from other education or enforcement projects.
    • Long-term impact eg. if work will be replicated in other sectors or countries or if the success of the project will see it continued in the future.
  • Where possible, please provide any metrics on performance and links to supporting evidence, including links to relevant websites, social media sites or press coverage.
  • Information submitted as part of a nomination process may be published publicly. By submitting a nomination you are giving permission for the Alliance for Intellectual Property to utilise this information at a later time. You may request that some information remains confidential.
  • The deadline for nominations is Friday 12th May 2017
  • A shortlist of five nominations will be drawn up from the nominees. The shortlisted entries will be contacted by 30th May 2017. The winner will be informed by 27th June 2017.
  • The Award will be presented at the Alliance Summer Reception on Tuesday 11th July 2017.
