This week, the Government has performed a U-Term on NIC contributions for self-employed, the EU Bill got Royal Assent on Thursday allowing the Prime Minister to trigger Article 50, the Conservative Party has been fined £70,000 over the election expenses row and George Osborne has been made Editor of the Evening Standard.

David and Goliath - Argos v Argos

ACID Legal Affiliate, Virtuoso Legal, has won a modern-day David vs Goliath intellectual property case in the High Court, acting for the defendant, Argos Systems Inc (“Argos US”) in a case brought by Argos Limited (“Argos UK”), the well-known UK retailer. This case sets a new precedent in online advertising, particularly those businesses who advertise using Google AdWords or AdSense, as many ACID members will.

Last Week in Parliament

This week, YouGov released their latest poll, showing that the Conservative Party has a 16 point lead over Labour.  Figures are Conservative (40%, no change), Labour (24%, -2), UKIP (14%, +2), Lib Dem (11%, no change) and Greens (4%, no change).  Labour has also gone down to third place among working class voters.
